Butter Pecan Ice Cream
2 cups half and half
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups heavy (whipping) cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecans (sautéd in butter, tossed in brown sugar)
Combine half and half, brown sugar and butter in saucepan. Cook until bubbles form around the edges. Let mixture cool. When cool, place the mixture in an ice cream freezer with the cream and vanilla. Freeze but watch carefully because when the ice cream starts to harden, you need the candied pecans. Finish freezing.
Grandpa Blakesley's Fat Man's Ice Cream
1 pound snickers candy bars, cut up
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup chocolate syrup or hot fudge
4 cups heavy (whipping) cream
2 cups half and half
In a medium-sized sauce pan, cook candy bars, sweetened condensed milk and chocolate syrup until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Stir in creams and freeze in an ice cream freezer.
Grandpa Blakesley's French Chocolate Custard Ice Cream
2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups whole milk
4 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups heavy (whipping) cream
2 cups half and half
3 tablespoons vanilla
Combine sugar, flour and salt. Gradually stir in milk. Add chocolate. Cook and stir over low heat until thick and smooth. Add small amounts of hot mixture to eggs to temper them slowly. When they're hot enough, put it all into the pot. Cook and stir until mixture starts to boil. Remove from heat. Add cream and vanilla. Freeze in four quart freezer.
Grandpa Blakesley's Fresh Peach Ice Cream
2 cans evaporated milk
6 cups fresh, ripe peaches, mashed
1/3 cup lemon juice
3 cups heavy (whipping) cream
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 tablespoon almond extract
6 eggs, beaten
4 cups sugar, divided
Beat eggs till fluffy. Place in medium sauce pan. Fold in 2 ½ cups sugar and milk. Cook until thick and custard starts tp coat the spoon. Remove from heat and chill. Toss peaches with remaining sugar and lemon juice. Fold peaches, whipping cream and flavorings into custard. Pour into freezer and freeze according to directions.
Old Fashioned Vanilla Ice Cream
2 1/2 cups half and half
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla (or vanilla
1 1/4 cup heavy (whipping) cream
Stir all ingredients together. Place in an ice cream freezer and freeze.
Super Easy Vanilla Ice Cream
1 can sweetened condensed milk
4 cups half and half
1 tablespoon vanilla
Place all ingredients in an ice cream freezer and freeze!
Sweet Lemon Vanilla Ice Cream
1 quart whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup lemon juice
6 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Place all ingredients into an ice cream freezer and freeze!
